The Importance of a Related Article Resource Box

Monday 20 November 2006 @ 12:38 am

From a webmasters perspective, one of the most important parts of article marketing is the resource box.

The resource box is what you find at the end of an article and usually contains the name of the author with a brief description, in addition to a link (or links) to a website that the author is promoting. The links provided here need to be related to the content of the article, but for one reason or another this is often not the case. I believe this to be somewhat of a flaw in an author’s article marketing skills.

Let’s take an example where an author wants to promote a website about fishing. If the author decides that they are aiming to only benefit from the article directory links then they might submit articles totally unrelated to fishing, such as carpet upholstery or tire manufacturing. This is fairly common, yet the author is missing a huge market of readers. Someone who searches for articles around a niche that they are interested in is searching for a reason - they want information on that topic. By providing unrelated links in the resource box the author is missing a major part of the article marketing jigsaw.

The reason that articles and the links at the end of those articles are sometimes unrelated may partly be down to the increasing number of PLR article membership sites that are available. Authors see this as a prime opportunity to use a PLR article of any niche, add a resource box on the end with a couple of links and submit to article directories, solely for the link building benefit.

Article marketing is not only about gaining links back to a website, but also to inform a reader and gain direct traffic from article directories.

One of the most advantageous aspects of this method of marketing is also the ability for publishers to use an article on their own website or in their ezine. For the article author this holds unlimited potential - there are thousands of websites that could POTENTIALLY publish your article and directly send you traffic. This can benefit the article author for years down the line.

Article marketing when done correctly is one of the most powerful forms of marketing that website owners possess. There are several to successful article marketing, and providing a relevant resource box is just one of them.

Article Writing and Marketing

Saturday 18 November 2006 @ 12:38 am

As alot of you already know, writing articles is an easy way to online business
success. Article marketing has vast become a superb form of advertising
for thousands of businesses and entrenepeurs. They know where the moneys at.
The popularity of article writing and marketing has skyrocketed recently and is the
best way to successfully receive targeted traffic to your website.

By writing articles, you are showing the world you are knowledgeable on the topic
you are most familiar with. Lets say you are an expert on email marketing, and
your website is themed around email marketing. Then you would write an article
based on that topic and website theme.

Then submit your article to numorous article directories around the web,
(and there are hundreds of them). As the webmasters of these article directories
start to approve and publish your article. This will start to build massive exposure
to your website because you also left a link back to your website in the resource
box. Now the search engines start to spider all of the article directories.

Now it gets good. The search engines see fresh, new content in the directory and
then they see a link back to your site. Now the search engines crawl your site!!
Here you will see your website start to move up the listings in engines like
Google, MSN, and Yahoo! , just to name a few. Now you start to become an
authority in the field of your topic (email marketing). Now when people search
the keyword “Email Marketing”, they find your article in the search engines and
visit your site. Now you start to get alot of high quality backlinks to your website.
This is known as link popularity. As time goes by you will receive more and more
links back to your site. Your site shoots up the search engines.

Now this is the best form of traffic you can get because everyone who visits your
website IS looking for “Email Marketing”. This results in more sales for you! Very
powerful stuff. As you start to build up backlinks to your site, you begin to become
a big presence in the online world. You become a trusted individual on your field of
expertise and build a positive reputation to everyone in the online business world.

I must also mention that all of this effort you put into article writing, and submitting
to article directories, does pay off. All of the traffic you will get is laser-targeted,
free traffic. You do not pay one cent for this. Now who would argue with that!

Heres another little trick to improve on the search engines. Lets get back to the
“Email Marketing” scenario. Your writing an article on email marketing. Now you
submit it to the article directories. What are you going to call your article?
Why not just name it “Email Marketing”. Right now there are 466,000,000
searches on Google for this keyword. Why not target that keyword phrase
and capitalize on the free traffic for the most popular phrase on Google!

You see where I’m going with this? Imagine all the free traffic you can get from
just from this one simple technique. You can be stuffing your bank account with
all the money you can handle.

So get started writing articles and submitting them right now. The more you write
the more successful you can be. Don’t be afraid of article writing, there are tons
of resourses out there to teach you this. You do not have to be a literary major
to do this. Let your passion to succeed guide you.

A Guide To Charge Cards

Thursday 16 November 2006 @ 12:38 am

Whether you have a credit card or not, it pays to know the alternatives to them. If you have a card, you might have heard the term charge card before. However, many people don’t really know the difference between a charge card and a credit card, and what the benefits and drawbacks of a charge card are. If you want to know more about charge cards then here are some useful tips to get you started.

What is a charge card?

A charge card is a plastic card much like a credit card, in that you can pay for goods and withdraw money using the card. However, unlike credit cards, the balance of a charge card has to be settled in full each month. The most common examples of charge cards are American Express and Diners Club cards, as well as some gold cards.

Paying the balance in full

The main feature of a charge card is that you have to pay the balance off in full each month. If you currently have a credit card and pay your balance off each month, then having a charge card would be very similar to this. Settling the balance each month means that you can budget an exact amount that you can afford to spend. However, you must remember that if you cannot pay off the balance then the penalty interest will be much higher than a normal credit card.

No limits

Another feature of charge cards is that there are no real pre-set spending limits on the card, meaning in theory you can spend what you want on it. This is brilliant if you can afford to pay off large amounts each month, but can be disastrous if you are not disciplined. You could easily run up very large debts that you have no means of paying off at the end of the month. However, having no limit is useful in an emergency because it gives you more flexibility.

Benefits

Although charge card bills need to be settled each month, many people get charge cards because of the excellent benefits that they offer their customers. Although benefits differ from card to card, privileges can include free travel insurance, as well as access to business lounges in airports. Charge cards are a good tool for people who travel around a lot and want to be comfortable wherever they go.

Not always accepted

One of the main disadvantages of charge cards is that they are not as widely accepted as Visa or MasterCard credit cards. This is because charge card issuers charge a higher percentage to businesses, meaning that a number of them are unwilling to allow purchases with these cards.

Who should get charge cards?

Getting a charge card is really a personal choice, although people who find it hard to budget should not get a charge card. However, if you can afford to pay off the balance in full each month and want to have a card that gives you a large number of benefits, then a charge card might be for you.
