Keys to Successful Advertising

There are several methods of advertising on the Internet. Some are free, some are low cost, while others are insanely expensive. The first thing you will need to look at is how much you are willing to pay for traffic, and how far your advertising dollar can go.
Let’s say you have got a great idea, and your website is now complete. You are ready to open for business but where are your customers? Simple you are going to have to go out and get them. It sounds easy, but advertising can be a pitfall that can cripple many e-businesses.
One of the most effective, and cheapest, methods of advertising is through the use of e-zines. There are thousands, if not millions of e-zines published every single day. The best way to approach e-zines for advertising is to join a couple that fit your product profile and that you find interesting. Most e-zines offer incentives to new businesses signing up, and will even run your ad for free just for subscribing. You can find many e-zines that offer ads for as little as a dollar. It is a fantastic way to reach thousands of people who are already interested in your type of business.
Link exchanges are another free alternative to costly advertising. Be prepared to get lost in the shuffle if you choose a popular site. The best way to make use of this method is by running your own link exchange from your site and offering a free posting in exchange for a link back to your site.
In fact, you can utilize e-zines to promote your product for free, if you can write an informative article. E-zines are desperate for content, and will often offer to publish your article in exchange for a link back to your site. If you go this route, make sure that your article is informative and not just a sales pitch. For example, if your e-business deals with making money from home, an article about how working from home decreases stress would be very well received. Targeted advertising is by far the best way to bring in traffic to your website. By using targeted key words, your customers are not just stumbling into your website. Half the work is already done by the key words. You just need to supply the information. Google Ad Words can be used very effectively as well as other targeted key word companies. Most of these operate on a pay per click basis, so you will need to research your key words and supply the best possible words to ensure a good cost-to-click ratio.
Press releases are a great way to get the word out about your site and possibly create media buzz. While this method is more expensive than the above methods, it has the potential to bring in substantial traffic. Before sending out your release, make sure that it is formatted correctly and contains a powerful first paragraph. News editors are inundated daily and you do not want to get lost in the shuffle.
When writing your press release, it is important to make it news worthy, instead of a plain announcement. Using our example above, if a recent study is released about stress management and working from home, it would be a perfect time to send out a press release that mentions the study and your business. Be prepared to receive phone calls and answer questions if your release is a hit.
You don’t necessarily have to wait for an event to happen to send out your release. If all else fails, get creative! There are many ways to tie in your business to current events, all you need is a little imagination.

Back in the 1980’s in the health industry, the belief was that eating a high carbohydrates, low protein, and low fat diet was the healthiest way to go. Most carbohydrates were considered good. And ALL fats are bad.
Unfortunately when the carbohydrate rage was going on, we see an increase in obese people and diabetes. Not too healthy is it? Now, a balanced diet and eating healthy fish fats is accepted as the healthiest way to go. The carbohydrate myth is now debunked. (That is the fact as I see it, anyway)
The same thing goes on with internet marketing and today I’m going to help you debunk 3 common myths about internet marketing:
Myth #1
Internet Marketing takes no effort to build!
This is probably the most popular myth about internet marketing. Although internet marketing is in fact the lazy person’s way to wealth (legally and morally), the truth is that you still have to put out work in the front end before any real money is made in the backend.
Once you put enough work in the front end to develop a solid internet marketing foundation, you can then relax on the beach while the residual comes pouring in all without lifting a finger!
Myth #2
All you need is a great website with all the best graphics and animations!
You can’t just put up a website, tell your brother and sister about it, sit at home and watch TV all day and expect to have the cash magically appear in your bank account. You will still have to distribute, develop and market your product or service to people before anything significant will happen.
Many people spend tens of thousands of dollars having their websites developed without even thinking about the market they are selling their product and service to. They have all the flashy and colorful images and cute animations to impress visitors. Unfortunately, without a market, the only person that will look at their website and be impressed with it is themselves.
It’s like setting up your own professional practice or retail store and only telling your friends and family. No advertising and no marketing. Unless you have a HUGE family and have thousands of friends to support you, you’ll be out of business in within months!
Myth #3
The BIG money in Internet Marketing is all hype and bullshi*!
People who believe in this garbage probably believe that the only way to make money is to go to school and earn wages at their cubicle. Although these people are half right, they get what they believe, all of the hype and bullshi*, and none of the BIG money.
When an internet marketing guru’ promises that his program will make you a millionaire in a month, he is a fraud and that’s why internet marketing is sometimes viewed by some people as scams.
But don’t take financial lessons from wage earners, it’s like taking hockey lessons from Michael Jordan; you are learning from people who don’t know what they’re doing on those subjects. In our case, broke wage earners giving us their opinions about internet marketing!
If I told you how much a successful internet marketer makes, you wouldn’t believe me. Do your investigation and interview some top internet marketers. Find out his lifestyle and if it’s a lot better than yours, you’d better listen up
In conclusion, remember that an internet marketing business (like any business) requires effort and a marketing strategy in order for you to make the big bucks. Throw out all the myths that are now debunked and embrace the realities of internet marketing.

After spending countless hours reading books and seminars about internet marketing do you find that it’s very hard to get started? If this is describes you, you should read this article because I have an answer.
The challenge for most people starting off in internet marketing is that they are too independent! People feel that if they seek help from an experienced, successful person, they will look stupid or that everything that they are currently doing could be wrong.
Some people feel that they have to be right all the time so they avoid seeking advice to make themselves look good.’ The constantly want to be right. Let me ask you:
Would you rather be right, or would you rather be rich?
If you would rather be rich, then continue reading!
You probably figured out what that one crucial thing is by now, but just in case you don’t know let me state it below. That one crucial thing that holds most people back from success is:
REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE!
But you ask yourself:
How and where should I start? I don’t have ANY experience!
I love the advice of leadership author John Maxwell. He said:
If you don’t have the experience, borrow the experience.
Let me illustrate. Imagine back when you were six years old, and you wanted to learn how to play the piano. After days of pounding your fingers on your piano producing ugly sounds, you feel frustrated and ask for your parent’s help.
Did your parents give you a book, tell you to finish reading it, and immediately expect you to be performing in concerts?
Of course not! Your parents went seeking for a concert pianist and paid him $50/hour so that he can set goals for you, measure your progress and fully prepare yourself to play the piano to impress your parent’s friends.
I would guess that without the proper foundation of strong swift fingers and mental focus, you will not be able to play advanced songs and your confidence will plummet. And eventually, you will roll over, wet on yourself, and quit. There is too much money to be made for you to quit in internet marketing.
It is socially accepted that in order to be successful to play the piano (or anything else in life like sports), you need to hire a coach for thousands of dollars for their guidance. Yet when it comes to your success as an internet marketer and how to make money, people don’t realize that it works the same way!
No experience mixed with no guidance is a recipe for disaster. And without a mentor to prepare you for the challenges that lay ahead, chances are that you will be headed that direction and it will take you ten times as long to achieve the level of success you desire.
That is just common sense! So why not use your common sense when you want to make money with internet marketing as well?
Let me ask you, if you had to fight in a boxing match to win a million dollars, would you read and watch boxing books and videos for 3 months and immediately go into the ring to fight? No way! Unless you love pain and humiliation!
You need a good coach to condition you, throw you in the ring to get some experience, advise you on what to avoid, and win in your million dollar debut!
It is the same in the internet marketing world. Coaches can also help condition you, throw a few real assignments to give you some experience, advise you about pitfalls to avoid, and fully prepare you to win’ in your internet marketing debut.
It is absolutely crucial that you seek out a coach and borrow their coaches’ real life experience. If you are a newbie (veteran), seriously search for a mentor that has accomplished the success you desire so that you can skyrocket the results you desire.
