Saudi tribe holds camel beauty pageant (Reuters)

A herd of camels stares after it is disturbed during its lunch of hay at the Riyadh camel market May 23. This week, the Qahtani tribe of western Saudi Arabia has been welcoming entrants to its Mazayen al-Ibl competition, a parade of the "most beautiful camels" in the desolate desert region of Guwei'iyya, 120 km (75 miles) west of Riyadh. "Billie" the turtle wins Costa Rica sea race (Reuters)

Reuters - A leatherback turtlecalled Billie won the first Great Turtle Race from Costa Ricato the Galapagos Islands, swimming at a leisurely 3 or 4 mph(5-6 kph), organisers said on Friday.

Ashes of Star Trek’s Scotty fly to space (AP)
