Most people are working late and some times skip their sleep. This is not advisable as we need to take time to recharge ourselves with a good sleep. Without a good sleep, we will be productive the following day for working. Having the right amount of quality and quantity sleep is essential for everyone. But then sleep loss is quite a common problem for many.
One of the best advice before sleep is to avoid alcohol in the evening period. A word of warning is that losing your sleep can result having our body inability to metabolize the carbohyrates thus causing high blood in our glucose level. With these excess glucose that promotes too much insulin thus resulting more storage of body fat and can lead to insulin resistance that can trigger diabetes.
How to promote good sleep
It is an important guideline that you should cultivate a sleeping habit for regular bedtime and wake up time schedule including weekends. Practise to have a good routine like relaxing yourself in a hot bath, reading a book or listening to a soothing music.
It is best to create a conducive environment that is quiet, dark and comfortable. This will help to induce the mood of falling asleep on your comfortable mattress and pillows. It is also a good practise to make use of the bedroom for sleeping and having sex only. That way, it will automatically create the environment of inducing a relaxing and soothing sleep.
Remember to avoid eating before bedtime as it will disrupt your sleep since it will take a while before digestion. Having regular exercises a few hours before sleep promote better sleep. Also, avoid smoking, caffeine or alchol when come to bedtime as it can cause disruption of sleep in the night.
Insomnia
Do remember that having alchol can cause insomnia. Do take note that you should never mix alcohol with sleeping pills as the alcohol will increase the narcotic effects. A little sip of alcohol with sleeping pills can make you feel dizzy, confused or faint. Some people thought that having a small amount of alcohol can help in sleeping but unknowingly it will make a person waking during the night and has suppression of rapid eye movement sleep.
